Autumn has its own unique spirit and colors that reflect it in the best way. One of the best places to enjoy this feast of colors is the town of Domaniç in Kütahya, Turkey. The hike to the peaks of the Topuk Plateau here was a unique experience; this journey with people I had never met before, accompanied by the sunlight and the color tones of nature, nourished my soul.
Our trekking route started in the early morning hours, before sunrise, at a point where we greeted the sun amid nature. We gathered at Topuk Plateau Nature Park in the Domaniç district. There were countless people and minibusses. Everyone wanted to enjoy nature on this hot day. A group from Eskişehir joined our team, and before we started our trek, we bought poppy seed pancakes and tea from the women selling special poppy seed pancakes for Kütahya. Then the route started.
As we walked deeper into nature, the enormous fruit trees of nature accompanied us. At the same time, we were accompanied by a stream. There were trees everywhere, and leaves adorned our path. We were a very crowded team, so two experienced people were watching us, two in front of us and two behind us, to ensure we didn’t get lost. One of the most beautiful parts of the hike was to go with whomever you wanted and have sweet dialogues with people you didn’t know. We touched each other’s lives with wonderful people, just like our dialog with nature.
The area around Domaniç is an excellent place where travelers constantly visit, hike, and camp. You can come here with your friends or with a team like me. It was my first time in Domaniç, so I wanted to go on this journey with experienced people. Afterward, I plan to come back with my friends to camp again. The sound of birds, streams, and nature takes you away from the stress of modern life. With a bit of research, you can determine a great route here. If you wish, you can also camp in Topuk Yaylası Nature Park. There are toilets, tables, and a beautiful lake inside.
We did a hiking route in Topuk Plateau, deep into the forest and approaching the peaks. The date was October 30, 2022, and you can choose this route for camping or hiking on a sunny day to enjoy the autumn to the fullest. My preference for hiking was to wear multiple layers. Although I always prefer to dress this way whenever I am in touch with nature, regardless of hiking or camping. That is the right thing to do. I had a t-shirt and a tank top underneath, and whenever I felt that I started to sweat, I took them off and tied them around my waist. It was not muddy in our rheumatism, and the ground was dry, so my sneakers were an ideal choice for me. As for the jumpsuit, I think it is a perfect choice as long as your toilet does not come 😂
I didn’t have any difficulty in this walk, it was delightful, and if you are a person who likes walking, it was a process that you would enjoy as much as possible. What I learned from this walk, or what we became more aware of, is to share work. When we stopped to rest, everyone took out the food, sandwiches, snacks, teas, and coffees to share. Pleasant conversations accompanied this break. Everything shared tastes even better. Teas, meals, and moments become more memorable and delicious.
The hike to Domaniç Topuk Plateau was a wonderful experience, and peace was at the center. It was an adventure where I dived into my thoughts, integrated with nature, and met wonderful people. At the end of our route, we took a minibus to Domaniç Sarıkız. You should go! There we had a delicious trout in the garden of a nice restaurant. It was the most delightful way to end this hike.
If you want a hiking camping route and want to experience different places, you should include Domaniç in your path. One of the most beautiful things about Kütahya is its vast nature which offers countless places to visit. If you are hungry and open to different experiences, I await you in Domaniç!
